At CTEES we take mental health very seriously and are a strong advocate for the awareness of mental health disorders. We provide specialist training that can be taken up by those who wish to learn more about mental health or those who wish to use this knowledge to advance toward their chosen career, whether in the medical or care work sectors or anywhere in between.

At CTEES we offer a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Understanding Mental Health Advocacy In The Workplace.

  • What does the qualification cover?

This course aims to raise awareness of mental health and a variety of mental health conditions.


  • Who is eligible and/or suitable for the course?

This qualification has a minimum age limit of 16.
This is suited for people who wish to learn more about mental health issues and the problems that can cause them. An example of these learners could be people who wish to develop their skills on career paths such as health and social care etc.


  • What are the entry requirements?

No specific prior qualifications are required to partake in this course, it is however beneficial to have a Level 1 qualification in a health-related area.


  • How is the qualification structured?

Learners must complete the 10 mandatory units and show an understanding of the learning outcomes and criteria in order to achieve a Level 2 certificate in mental health awareness.


  • How is it assessed?

This qualification is assessed internally and grades are not awarded per module.


  • What are the routes of further Progression?

This qualification provides a route for learners to explore the following areas:


  • Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.
  • Level 2 and 3 Certificate for Working in the Health Sector.
  • Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Stroke Care Management.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health.


  • What types of jobs will this prepare you for?

The goal of this qualification is to prepare learners for further training and to support a role in the workplace.
