Giving Back

Giving Back To Our Community

At CTEES, we have a community-focused mindset.

Our aim is to provide free and accessible training for people in the Tees Valley and throughout the North East. We want to draw attention to the community centres and hubs that host us and help make our courses possible, as they rely on the support and participation of their local community to continue running high-quality courses and services. To find some of the community resources available in the Tees Valley, visit our information and guidance page.

We are also aiming to help reduce carbon emissions by providing our learners with free group transport from Middlesbrough centre to our training suite as a way to incentivise the use of public transport over individual vehicles.

Awareness of mental health conditions is also a key focus of the CTEES team. We aim to promote understanding and mindfulness through the availability of our mental health first aid and advocacy courses.

We hope our courses help foster a sense of community and allow our learners to develop new skills and forge new connections with their peers.

Green Issues

Along with our program to provide free pick-up and drop-off transport to our learners, we also aim to promote sustainable practices throughout our courses as another way to reduce the carbon emissions created by us. We aim to limit the amount of material and paper waste created on our courses by putting guidelines in place for the use of materials and by using recycled paper for all our printing and workbooks. This extends to the sewing and craft courses provided by our partner companies, where the upcycling of garments and fabric is used - we are doing our part to combat textile waste which is one of the biggest contributors to landfill.

Equality and Diversity

As we work in many areas across the North East, we provide services to a diverse range of people. Our staff treat everyone with respect and expect the same from our learners. As our teams and training providers have experience working with people who are ESL, as well as those with learning difficulties, we aim to provide extra support to any learners who need it.
